Athleta Basketball Club is one of the top basketball clubs in Malta and Gozo. During season 2008/9 our Men Seniors Team confirmed that we are one of the top teams by contesting all the five finals of the MBA Competitions and winning the Louis Borg Cup. The Senior Men’s team roll of honours in the last 11 seasons includes 6 Championships, 5 Knock Out Competitions, 6 Louis Borg Cups, 3 MBA Shield Competitions and 6 Super Cups, a total of 26 out of a possible 53. Joe Galea has been confirmed as Head Coach. Players Michael Naudi, Omar Said, Addison Bonnici, Silvio Cassar, Julian Naudi, Etienne Bezzina and Clayton Calleja will be once again playing for our team. We have registered American player Cameron Doughty while Jonathan Zammit has returned to form part of our team. Two promising youngsters, Christian Galea and Michael Giusti complete the team. The Women Seniors Team will be coached once again by Annie Jetcheva. Annie will also coach the women teams from the Under 20 to the Under 15. Max Lubrano is the coach of the new Men Seniors team in the Second Division. Dalibor Mijatovic has once again been entrusted with the Men teams from the Under 20 to the Under 13. Leanne Sciberras has been confirmed as the coach for the Girls Under 13 team while Joe Miceli will coach the Boys Under 11, the Girls Under 11 and the Mixed Under 9 teams.
